How'd I miss that??

      I was cleaning my craft room the other day and came across a few scrapbook pages from our trip to Disney from two years ago.  I decided to put the pages in their album; only to discover I had no Disney album from that trip!  I have no idea how that happened but after a quick visit to Shutterfly and a few weeks waiting for my photos to come in I am now scrapping Disney like crazy!  I put the pictures from this year's trip on hold and am trying to focus on these older pictures.  I ordered several 8x10 photographs, a bunch of 5x7's and a lot of 4x6's as well.  I started wherever inspiration struck. 



Nuts about Chip and Dale

For this Nuts about Chip and Dale page I used some acorn paper I had gotten in a fall scrapbooking paper pack, some plain brown paper and a few leftover Chip and Dale stickers.  I used my Cricut to cut out the letters and though you can't see them well in the photograph I do love how it came out. Cute and whimsical!  

Magic Carpets of Aladdin

    I used my Cricut for this entire page.  It took me almost 2 hours and I have to say that I only liked it (not loved it) when it was finished.  Using the Dreams Come True cartridge I cut out the Jasmine frame in a size 7 and it ended up being perfect for my photo.  I then cut out Jasmine and Aladdin in a size 6 (using all the layers and details in the cartridge).

Port Orleans

    For this photo I bought a New Orleans sticker pack by Jolee's and combined those with some varying shades of green paper.  I took the little packet included in our room brochure (along with the map of our hotel) and attached it to the corner of the page.  I'm always looking for ways to include our park and hotel maps since I think it's such a great thing to look back on. Disney's always changing and it's nice to freeze frame those moments in time. 

Meeting Goofy and Pluto at Animal Kingdom

   Using my Disney paper pack I turned the paper sideways, mounted the pictures on coordinating cardstock and used my Cricut to cut out the title using the Mickey and Friends cartridge.  I adhered a little sticker of Pluto and his dog house to the corner and added a few paw prints too.

Lights, Motors, Action

Don't you hate it when your creative juices just stop flowing and it seems like nothing is going right?  I finally managed to finish three half- way decent pages yesterday but it took me hours and quite a bit of swearing (under my breath) at my Cricut.  I got a newer, larger Cricut for Christmas and I guess I'm still learning the in's and out's of it.  Here are the three layouts for Hollywood Studios Lights, Motors, Action Stunt show:

I took a toy truck from our playroom, ran it through black ink and made tire tracks along
the title.  I added a few cute Disney stickers in a racing theme.  Simple and easy. 

For this page I cut the letters out using the Cricut and some thin metal sheeting
in a very light blue color.  I used the same Disney racing stickers and honestly, it looks way better in person

This is my least favorite (and probably unfinished) version.  I'd like to add some more embellishments
of some sort-- perhaps some checkered flags, silver gears, or tires-- I'm not sure & until I get struck with
some inspiration I'll leave it as is.  Who knows-- it might even grow on me! 

Disney "extras"

I had a few more random pages that I have scrapped from this last Disney trip.  We were so impressed with our room and hotel that I had to scrap that too!

We had the best travel agent EVER!  She surprised us with this wonderful gift "basket" of goodies and I just had to scrap
this wonderful treat.  There's nothing like coming back to your room after a long day at the park to find a great big Mickey bag full of treats!

Chef Mickey

My boys are getting to that age when they don't want to wait in line to meet any characters in the parks.  They are all about the rides and so I'm always glad when they still want to eat at a character breakfast!  Here are some layouts for our Chef Mickey breakfast... they still need journaling but I think you can see where I left space for that later.  I'm all about simple layouts and clean lines so my pages are fairly basic.  I like my pictures to be the focal point-- not the embellishments so I tend to keep them to a minimum.  When The paper itself is decorated I typically don't put anything else on it.

Hollywood Studios

  Hollywood studios was one of the boys favorite parks this trip and so we spent quite a lot of time there.  I'd say we spent the majority of our time between Hollywood Studios and EPCOT.  My boys have always loved EPCOT.

I loved this "summary" page of our day mostly I think because of this paper I bought at Scrapbook.com.  It was just perfect that I also had silver glitter chipboard letters to complete the look.

More Disney

    I've been getting caught up on most of my Disney pages.  While they aren't completely done most of them are mostly done, if that even makes any sense!  For most of the pages I concentrate on color and layout first, add in a title second and finish up with any journaling last.  As I get further behind on my scrapbooking I seem to get less and less journaling done but I figure one day I'll get to sit down at the computer and get all caught up on all the journaling.  I leave a box on most pages that I hope is large enough (without being too large) to fit all my journaling into when the time comes.  For me this is just a system that works.  But enough about that!  Here are some of my completed pages:

Butterfly Mania

    For my baby sister's wedding present she requested a scrapbook (as if I'd do anything else anyway!).  I knew I needed to incorporate a lot of butterflies and I tried to include touches of paper or ribbon to match our bridesmaid dresses.  The dresses were a pretty teal- blue color called peacock.  It is not an easy color to match!  I found wedding scrapbooking a bit more challenging than baby scrapbooking, mostly I'm sure since I don't do wedding scrapbooks very often, but I still loved the completed project.
